Load up the truck and lets hit the road! A weekend spent au naturale with the bare minimum (and whatever extras I can fit in the boot!) Luckily I'm not high maintenance so I'm okay with camping and being in the woods but I actually don't have much experience with it; growing up a true west coast Canadian though, I'm all in for roughing it for a few days! The weekend should be adventure filled with fishing, swimming, campfires, and hot dogs! Since I'm a rookie, I thought I would break it down before I pack so here you go...the essentials of camping: 

Even though I've started working…lately I've been on the evening shifts so I still have to occupy myself all day long! It's hard to do the same things everyday and I find myself easily getting into a funk. Everyday I try to get outside and get active so I feel like I am doing something. Even if it the littlest thing, it makes your day more fulfilling. Things that help me make each day a happy one are usually just the small things that everyone should appreciate a little bit more. 

I know next to nothing about gardening. To be honest, digging in the dirt with worms and bugs is not my cup of tea but once we got started, it went a lot better than anticipated!
My boyfriend and I always buy herbs from the grocery store for our meals; they sell for about $3 per bunch. We were so sick of buying them and having them go bad 2 days later so we thought about starting our own garden to save us the hassle. Like I said, gardening is definitely not my specialty but surprisingly, it was so therapeutic and somewhat rewarding! 

Been a little M.I.A the last couple weeks but its been pretty hectic! All good things though. At last, started my job at the surf house. Ugh I almost forgot what hospitality was like. Hopefully I get the hang of it pretty soon (I hate being a perfectionist…so frustrating when learning new things!) but at least it is a new experience, I can meet some new people and add another skill onto the resume!

Halloween is a huge deal at home. Everyone loves to get dressed up and go out. I prefer to stay in, watch scary movies, and hand out candy but I definitely have had my fill of crazy halloween nights out; everything from pub crawls to hotel events in Serbia. Celebrate how you want, either or is alway a good time. Now that I"m in Aus….people don't really celebrate the honorary holiday. My boyfriend actually asked me "what day is Halloween on?" ….WHAT!?
